The idea for this book grew out of the need to replace the ageing scout hut in Wasperton Lane with a new Barford Youth and Community Centre. The book is dedicated to leaders of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Guides and Brownies, past and present, who freely give their time.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the new Youth and Community Centre fund.

As well as tracing the history of the various groups from their formation in the village, in the early part of the last century, the book contains reminiscences of villagers who were involved in the groups either as members or leaders. It contains many photographs and we anticipate comments on how well some of us have aged!
